Carbon Nanotube (CNT)
Carbon nanotubes(CNT) are cylindrical rolled-up sheets of single-layer carbon atoms. CNTs may exist as single walled or multi-walled. They were discovered independently in 1993 by Iijima and Ichihashi and Bethune et al. in carbon arc chambers.
CNTs are very tough and hard to break, yet still relatively light. It is very important to achieve a helical lattice of orderly bonded carbon atoms on the cylinder surface.
